I'm supposed to be doing something else right now, so I'm taking the easy way out to tell you about this opportunity. The following is from the City of Fort Worth Public Health Website:
The 2007 FitFuture KIDS Fest will take place Saturday, Nov. 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
KIDS Fest was developed last year as means to educate children and their parents about the importance of physical activity and healthy eating habits in a creative and fun-filled way. It is estimated that in Texas alone 25 percent of children are impacted by this issue. An obese adolescent has a 70 percent chance of becoming an overweight or obese adult.
KIDS Fest is a free event where children and their parents can take part in an array of activities, which all center on giving them skills they can apply in their daily lives to help tackle lifestyle choices that can lead to obesity and overweight problems.More than 2,100 children and adults attended last year's FitFuture KIDS Fest. We hope to see you there this year!
During the event parents and children can:
Participate in healthy cooking demonstrations
Learn how to grow a health vegetable garden
Sample yoga, fencing, karate, gymnastics, dancing, rock climbing and various other physical activities
Learn to use technology to make exercise fun and interesting and much more!
Read on to find kid-friendly activities and events around the Fort Worth area that your whole family can enjoy!
