Upcoming Weekend Events

Due to time constraints, the format will be a little different this week, and entries will basically be straight from the websites. Read on for some great activities this weekend.

1. Journey to Bethleham. December 14 & 15, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM.
Groups of 35 people begin the Journey every 10 minutes.

Journey to Bethlehem is an hour-long outdoor dramatic presentation of the Christmas story. You’ll encounter camels, horses, Roman soldiers, plus sheep, goats, and other animals as you travel to Bethlehem on our beautifully wooded 50-acre campus.
Make this your new family Christmas tradition as we enter into the Christmas season!

2. Birdville Baptist 2007 Living Christmas Tree Performance. Friday & Saturday, Dec. 14 & 15 at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3:00 p.m. at 3141 Carson Street, Haltom City, Texas 76117.

3. Holidays At The Hearth at Log Cabin Village. Saturday, December 15, 1:00—4:00 p.m. Celebrate the holidays Village style! See how cabins would have been decorated, string some popcorn, enjoy some cider and tamales, and reflect on storied traditions as you pause from the holiday hustle and bustle. Make your own punched tin ornament to take home! No reservations required. Cost is regular Village admission plus a $2 craft fee.

4. Celebrate Christmas at Trinity Park (off of University in Fort Worth at Crestline Drive),
FREE!, Dec. 14-16, 7pm - 9pm. Come join us as we celebrate the miracle of Christmas! At Celebrate Christmas, you’ll experience 14 scenes from the life of Christ, reenacted live as you drive through Trinity Park from the comfort of your own vehicle. You’ll be guided on your journey by a narrated audio recording. Your choice of either a CD or cassette tape will be provided to you free-of-charge as you enter the park. The audio narration is available in 7 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin and Arabic. Also, please be sure to stop and join us for free freshments at our Christmas Hospitality Tent.

5. Jingle Jam Concert - December 16, 2007. Jingle Jam 2007 is right around the corner with a star studded line up featuring Keke Palmer, special guest from High School Musical: The Concert, Drew Seeley and Mitchel Musso! Bring in the holidays with a rockin' concert brought to you by Radio Disney AM 620.When: December 16th Where: NYTEX Sports at 8851 Ice House Drive in North Richland HillsWhy: Your music, your way! No tickets necessary; the concert is FREE! The concert starts at 6:00pm, but the doors open at 4:30pm for fun with Radio Disney!

6. The Magic Christmas Festival/La Posada Magica. Artes de la Rosa, in partnership with All Saints Catholic Church, presents their first Christmas production – The Magic Christmas Festival / La Posada Magica by Octavio Solis. (A posada is a Christmas festival originating in Latin America that dramatizes the search of Joseph and Mary for lodging on the night of Christ’s birth.)
As the story begins, Gracie, a young girl, is distraught by the death of her younger baby brother. She then refuses to attend midnight mass with her parents on Christmas Eve. Later, she is then visited by a joyful, traveling posada. Reluctantly, she joins the posada learning the true meaning of Christmas. Complete with original music and colorful characters, this production is perfect for the entire family.
Directed by Rob Bosquez, this show wll be performed in English with a Latin beat.
